NAMI WALK HIGHLIGHTS 2017
Seven years of having a great team, have been very fulfilling. This year, I had 15 walkers, and some of them drove long miles to Sacramento to join us. Ages ranged from 82 to 6 yrs of age, but very hearty, enthusiastic walkers all in response to NAMI’s mission—education, advocacy and support. So, we all made a statement by being there:
- Bringing people together to show strengths not weaknesses
- Showing the public our commitment to helping the mentally ill
- Speaking out against discrimination of the mentally ill
I thank you all for getting donations for our local NAMI and also for NAMI National, who do a lot of research, advocacy and education also. Thanks to Sacramento NAMI for organizing the WALK, working at it and leading all of the affiliates in this mission. Also, thanks to our local WALK chair people Chris Brady and Marnye Henry. The donation campaign continues until June 30th, so Padlo’s Pacers would appreciate your donations (namiwalks/northerncalifornia/ Stanislaus.
MARNYE AND CHRIS’ TEAM
LIVE THE LIFE YOU DREAM
The Brady/Henry team won the t-shirt contest in this year’s NAMI WALK. They also have been the lead coordinators of the Stanislaus part of the WALK. We thank them for all their time, hard work and efforts to help our affiliate. They were also one of the top fundraisers. They too, are still taking donations until June 30th.
